A week in Tarentaise with the family

Every day had its own activity.

Downhill mountain biking for older children, with safe, suitable trails, perfect for enjoying the thrill without any pressure.

The children's favorite: an outing with a nature guide to see marmots and frogs. They still talk about it as if it were yesterday.

For me, a break in front of the unique silhouette of the Pierra Menta. I had brought my sketchbook and paints: watercolors were the obvious choice. A moment suspended in time, away from the noise, facing the immensity.

The Tarentaise region offers a wealth of family-friendly walks.

The Homme Cairn trail made a big impression on my eldest son. Following these stone sculptures along the path kept him enthralled, turning the hike into a real adventure game.

The hike to Rosuel was a revelation. It is the gateway to the Vanoise National Park. The landscapes change at every turn: torrents, flower-filled meadows, steep cliffs... you feel like you are crossing a threshold into another world.

And then there was the cable car ride up to the Aiguille Rouge. In just a few minutes, we found ourselves facing a panorama stretching all the way to the Italian Alps. Even the children were silent for a moment, impressed by the immensity.
